We enjoyed our visit to Praiano The villa was great- comfortable and well appointed with stunning views from the terrace The owners were very helpful particularly when we arrived and had to carry our luggage up the steps We wondered at times whether we could have managed without a car in view of the excellent bus service to and from the beach and towns along the Amalfi coast but we concluded that although parking near the villa was a bit of a lottery we did the need the car for what we were anxious to see The highlights of our holiday were visits to Ravello Vesuvius and Herculaneum the boat trip to Capri swimming from Praiano beach and relaxing on the terrace in the evenings At times we found driving on the coastal road unnerving with many drivers especially motorcyclists - impatient and clearly in possession of a death wish ...
