We spent three weeks at Casa Scimone celebrating our birthdays and entertaining family and friends. We booked the property through Ville in Italia and received excellent service and attention from Massimiliano. He provided all the details on the Villa and shared with us the other services that were available such as meals in the Villa, excursions, wine tastings including costs. It was a very seamless process.

Casa Scimone is a wonderful property and Micalea, the owner, was so helpful in recommending and planning all the events and activities during our stay. Micaela is truly the best and she was always accessible during our stay and gave us recommendations and made reservations for restaurants, beach clubs, wine tasting and boating trips. She hosted an amazing birthday party for us including a cocktail hour with bartender, a folk music band and a delicious meal prepared by A. the chef. The owner also arranged a dinner in the Villa with Chef and wine tasting with the Sommelier from the San Domenico Hotel (pro tip only available here), highly recommend this event!

The Villa itself is large with expansive outdoor spaces. We had a total of 12 people at one point during our stay and we were very comfortable. You will see in other reviews that the landscaping is stunning and looks better than the pictures. It's true. All rooms in the Villa are beautifully decorated and the beds are comfortable. Not always the case in Europe. One of the best features of the Casa Scimone is its proximity to the Corso Umberto. It's a very short walk, maybe 5 minutes, and you are at the Catania Gate and all the action. So we highly recommend Casa Scimone and can't wait to return.

We were a party of 13 adult friends and some adult kids. The location is exceptionally nice, convenient and walking distance to supermarket and all the main activities. The Villa and pool could not have been nicer. Lots of beautiful spaces to get lost in if you wanted to. The owner could not have been more helpful. What a great assess to have an owner who takes so much pride and care with making sure you are enjoying your stay. We simply couldn’t have had a better time.

We could not have picked a better villa for our stay in Taormina. The location was easy for walking to everything! The pictures do not do this villa justice. It's absolutely beautiful and fit our family of 9 comfortably... with room to spare. The owner was an amazing host. The cook and assistant made an amazing daily breakfast and welcome dinner. I was sad to say goodbye to the house, the people and Taormina. We hope to be back and when we do, it will be at Casa Scimone.

The villa is even more beautiful in person. The gardens are incredible. SO much outdoor space, sitting areas, terraces, etc. The pool is lovely. Kitchen well equipped including beautiful glassware and linens. Bedrooms are stylish & comfy. Proximity to town is why we ultimately chose this villa and that was a wise decision. Very close to a fantastic grocery store and many great restaurants + all of Taormina. The best host ever arranged so much for us (wine tours/Etna, beach club, boat outing, chef/sommelier dinner, airport transfers, dinner reservations & more). We will be back. Our group of eight loved everything about staying at Casa Scimone. The location is ideal, being right by the centre of town and yet far enough away to feel very secluded and peaceful. The views from the terraces and the bedrooms are stunning and there is so much outdoors space for the children to enjoy. We were very appreciative of housekeeper and her tidying skills and it was nice to receive fresh towels during our stay. Our host Micaela went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. She accomodated our late arrival when our plane was delayed and was friendly and helpful at all times. We highly recommend staying at this beautiful villa.

The Villa is exceptional down to every detail. From the beautifully decorated rooms to the impeccable gardens, it’s better than the photos. The location is peaceful and private, yet just a few minutes from the center of Taormina, and the views are stunning. Micaela is an exceptional host, she is friendly, responsive and helpful. Their housekeeper, Angela, is an exceptional cook, and we paid a little extra for a few meals to be prepared for us and it was definitely worth it. We’ll be back!

Great location with beautiful views over the whole of Taormina . At the disposal of the guests whole houses combined into one unit with beautiful rooms , terraces full of greenery and historical design elements . An ideal place for a very large family ( 12 people including children from 4 to 15 years ) to play and run around the beautiful terraces , swim in the pool or play in the air-conditioned rooms ! This was a fantastic place to stay.
The owner was an amazing host, very welcoming and warm and only too happy to help with advice and suggestions. The cleaning and ground staff were friendly and courteous and only too happy to help. The villa itself was one of the best places I’ve stayed and the photos while amazing don’t do it justice for quite how stunning a place it is. I would very strongly recommend a week here in the fabulous Taormina sunshine and will look forward to coming back and staying here again as soon as I’m able

50th Wedding Anniversary

We stayed a week. There were 14 of us including our adult children and their spouses and close friends. Each had their private spaces. The views from the 3 decks were spectacular and there was a short walk to a complete grocery store and all the attractions of Taormina. The owner was always available by WhatsAp and provided a lot of suggestions including an outstanding place that made our cake. This exceeded everyone’s expectations.

10 stars out of 5 – a fabulous place in every respect! Location is wonderful, only a short walk to restaurants, shops and town centre. The villa feels as if Anna Magnani or the 1960s Dolce Vita set might drop in any moment. There is beautiful artwork and decorations everywhere which have genuine character and personality. The views and the gardens are truly paradisical. With the large established trees and plants on the terraces every aspect is gorgeous, I could not get enough of the garden and the views, with Etna peering over the terraces in the morning. House Manager Micaela is a very warm, charming, generous and knowledgeable host who went out of her way to help organise trips and dates, a pleasure to get to know her. She went very much above and beyond to offer help when we had a fright about our baby’s temperature. Many thanks, Micaela! Her little daughter also very generously shared her own toys! It goes without saying that the place is very spacious, super comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Our family of seven adults had wonderful holiday at Casa Scimone. It exceeded our expectations in every department: spacious and beautifully decorated. The gardens and terraces were especially attractive and the smell of jasmine from the garden below Casa Dario was delightful, we particularly enjoyed the pool even in late October and the views of the bay and Etna were a sensational start to the day House Manager Micaela was always available and arranged a great day out on Etna and at the winery almost by return of text, nothing was too much trouble and the cleaning and gardening staff were friendly and unobtrusive. She was very welcoming and the perfect host. We're sure you'll have a great holiday at Casa Scimone, we certainly did, and highly recommend it.

 What a fantastic and unforgettable week we had in Casa Scimone! Fourteen of us (9 adults, 4 children and 1 baby) stayed there while attending our daughter’s wedding in Taormina at the beginning of August. The location was ideal with a short 5 minute walk to Corso Umberto ( even less to the nearest supermarket) and the locked gate at the entrance meant we felt very safe.
The 2 villas and the apartment each with their own terraces and balconies meant that we all had our own space but could come together on the large terrace at Casa Dario or at the pool. The villas themselves were beautiful, tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable and contained everything that you could possibly want or need (there was even a selection of children’s toys). The pool was big enough for a cooling swim and the perfect size for keeping a watchful eye on all the children. The gardens were beautiful, tranquil and well maintained containing a range of trees (lemon, mango)and colourful flowers but one of the main attractions of Casa Scimone has to be the breathtaking view over Taormina, the bay and Etna.
In the weeks leading up to our trip we made many requests all of which were dealt with promptly through Alessandra from Ville in Italia - many thanks. Reviews I have read always mention how accommodating the owner Micaela is - now I understand why! We were made to feel like her guests/ friends rather than clients. From arranging transport and our grocery shopping on arrival to trying to locate lost luggage, nothing was a problem.
My husband celebrated his 70th birthday while we were there and we held the party for over 50 family members on the large terrace of Casa Dario. Micaela and her team ( a special mention to Angela and Manuele ) organised everything- delicious Sicilian food, drinks, ice lollies, birthday cake and a guitar player strumming in the background. All we had to do was turn up! None of us will ever forget this birthday! On the day of the wedding the groom and groomsmen got ready at the villa and it made a perfect backdrop for the photos. The location of the villa meant that they were able to make their way to the Chiesa by foot. A huge thank you to Micaela and her team for an absolutely amazing and unforgettable holiday. We will be back!

The owner of CASA SCIMONE was exceptional, making us feel welcome and safe. She was a font of information on many of the activities available, and nothing was too much trouble to arrange. Angela also was wonderful, and we all relished the food she provided.

As far as Covid is concerned, I think we felt safer in Traomina than we do in London. The Italian people have taken it on themselves to be safe and considerate with all. The stores and restaurants were all well prepared and followed procedures.

We didn't plan something for every day but all the activities we wanted to do were no issue: Mt Etna, mountain biking, boat tour, The Godfather tour, and the wineries. Micaela arranged everything and the drivers we had were wonderful.

Villa Scimone is a delight! Quiet, safe and full of character. We all loved the wealth of space and the busy, historic town is within easy walking distance. The villa provided a great retreat and h aving three distinct sleeping homes within the grounds of the villa meant that our party of 13 could have privacy when ever we needed it - Or we could join together for big meals or celebrations ( one birthday and one anniversary!).

We had a party of 8 stay at Casa Scimone in July 2017. We were greeted by the owner and we all immediately bonded with her. She has a fantastic spirit and energy and we all loved her. She was able to highlight all the things we needed to accomplish in Taormina and helped us get it all set up. And, her knowledge of the local restaurants including what to eat—ie their specialties was awesome. Casa Scimone sits on the hill overlooking the downtown area—about a 10 minute walk. It is perfectly situated. We enjoyed cocktails every evening before dinner overlooking the ocean and the lights of Taormina. What a spectacular way to end each day. The owner also arranged for a chef to cook for us at Casa Scimone twice during our stay. Local produce, fish, meat and PASTA were featured and was fantastic. It was truly one of the most relaxing enjoyable vacations. She is a gracious, wonderful host!

My friends and I, 11 of us in total, have just returned from a wonderful week in Casa Scimone.

We were (almost) all celebrating our 50th birthdays this year, and had planned this trip for 4 years! We chose Sicily as none of us had ever visited before. I was in charge of organising the accommodation, and spent a lot of time researching earlier this year. Once I found Casa Scimone, all other accommodations were compared to it, and none came close.

We could not have made a better choice if we had spent the rest of the year looking! Casa Scimone is beautiful, inside and out. The outside spaces are so many, we did not have time to spend in all of them! Because of the separate accommodations, the house never felt crowded with 11 of us, though we could come together to eat and enjoy each others' company in comfort. The house was equipped with everything you could possibly need, and more.

Our hostess and her team could not have been more hospitable and welcoming. I feel I made so much work for House Manager while trying to organise the 'perfect holiday' for our group, but she was unfailingly helpful and responsive, no matter how many emails I sent! And it was the perfect holiday.

I have been trying to put my finger on what was so special about this holiday and this house, and here it is.....we did not feel like clients, but guests. And what was always going to be a special holiday became unforgettable.

Casa Scimone was the perfect holiday home for our family of 7. This family
owned property is very well equipped, has a library of books for the
avid reader, two fantastic kitchens suitable for the serious cook and is
very spacious. Breathtaking views and a short walk to the beautiful
village of Taormina, no need for a car. The cleaning staff were very
friendly and discrete. Micaela the host was extremely helpful, her
notes and tips on the local restaurants, tours and fresh produce in
addition to her prompt replies to any of our questions made our holiday
just perfect. We will definitely be back to holiday again at Casa

Casa Scimone in Taormina, Sicily is one of our favorite places. It has a commanding view of the Mediterranean and Mt. Etna and is centrally located within easy walking distance of the picturesque town with its great shopping, historical sites and wonderful restaurants. Casa Scimone is on a quiet street easily accessible, with gated off-street parking. All the rooms and patios are professionally maintained and immaculate. Every detail is attended to, including a wonderful elevator.
All of this is enough to highly recommend Casa Scimone, but there is another feature that makes it stand alone: its owner who is welcoming, gracious, very helpful and professional. She gave us great recommendations on places to eat and visit, made reservations for us and joined us for a home-cooked dinner on the villa’s patio. The meal, by the way, was one of the best we had in Italy and is not to be missed.
When you stay at Casa Scimone, you will join the chorus of all who sign its praise.

For a group of 10 adults (friends and family) to find the perfect vacation, in the perfect location with the most knowledgeable, gracious, helpful, friendly, accommodating host -- well, this is impossible, yes? Actually, no -- not if you are lucky enough to experience Casa Scimone in Taormina with the owner !


The rooms are wonderful, the kitchens fully appointed with what's necessary for cooking full meals, or just the casual in-home diner. The meals prepared for us by Micaela and her staff were outstanding; and the recommendations for restaurants and Sicilian excursions were uniformly excellent. Seeing Etna, the Ionian Sea, and the boats and tour ships in and out of the area made for wonderful viewing.


The outdoor space is so amazing that you can miss some of the interesting and beautiful features inside the house, but stop to admire the artwork on the walls and the small details that make the house unique. Worth mentioning again, having two meals prepared at the Casa was a highlight of the stay. The food is amazing, typical for Sicily and some of it is grown in the Casa gardens.


The group is unanimous: these were the most comfortable and enjoyable accommodations we have ever experienced on holiday. Future vacations, no matter where in the world, will have difficulty matching this one.

We all had such an amazing time this week. We don't want to leave! Thanks for all the great help and recommendations.

We have had a wonderful holiday at Casa Scimone in Taormina, Sicily. Before our stay Massimiliano from Ville in Italia was extremely helpful in booking transfers to from the airport for us and gave us lots of advice on excursions to do once we were there. Casa Scimone is situated at the top of Toarmina and the views are spectacular. We only hired a car for one day to go to the Waterpark as our hostess organised many trips for us and shops and restaurants were all within easy walking distance. Our hostess was very knowledgeable about the area and really made our stay enjoyable. One night we stayed in and had a traditional Sicilian meal cooked for us which was delicious! Casa Scimone is made up of two very comfortable properties, which worked well for us as we were an extended family of ten and so could spread ourselves out. Sicily is a wonderful place and we all hope to return one day.

We are still talking about our wonderful vacation in Taormina. I was a bit nervous booking a villa via your website because you never know what you will end up with. Our emails to you and the owner asking for information, booking transfers, etc put me at ease. When we arrived at Villa Scimone we were so excited. The villa is amazing and the owner was a wonderful hostess. Anytime we had a question or concern she was there for us. Our most memorable meal was when we went to the local butcher (recommended by the owner) and bought fresh meat to BBQ at the villa. We had a bottle (or two) of wine and dined outside on the large patio with our family.
I would love to rent this villa again and I would definitely book again via Ville In Italia.
