The absolute best part of the villa was the balcony. I will never quite get over that view. We loved the balcony's bamboo ceiling, potted flowers, plants and decorative brass sink. We could sit at the table for hours just gazing at the panoramic scenery. It overlooks the entire area because of it's position at the top of the cliff. We marveled at how the town is built right into the rocky cliffs. The balcony had wonderful views of both town and sea. We watched boats on the water, the beach activity, waves crashing into the shore, the town's shops, sidewalk cafes, restaurants and hotels all with traditional stucco exteriors, red tile roofs and Roman arches. The Santa Maria church bells rang below us, and the city lights at night were amazing. We would spot places in the town below and try to find them later when when we were out walking. We walked down quite a few steps, directly to the beach below and it was a fun and interesting walk with so much to see. You can also easily catch a bus back to the top, with the bus stop within a block of the villa. From the marina at the beach we were able to book a boat trip to the Isle of Capri. Pompeii was also a great side trip. The staff from Ville in Italia kept us well informed and the villa owners were also very accessible and helpful. It was the best trip ever!
